    i mean unless they just changed something but when i went through Army basic i didnt do it….not until i switched to the Marine Corps.

    @SicEmPride
    if that’s the case why do OCS candidates do it but the Enlisted soldiers in basic training not go through a combat water survival in order to graduate from basic?

  • SicEmPride said:

    @redtib2003 Because we have to be ready for anything, and the world is about 70% water. So whether some of us like it or not, we might fall into the water by accident during a mission.

    @Runaholism They merely repeat it with another company in their battalion. The only time it really counts is when you pass it at LDAC.

    is there a reason why the ARMY has to do combat water survival??

    @p00ker1

    It’s usually just meant to weed out people who can’t properly swim, so…MOST of us can pass this with a breeze

    wow i know i wouldnt be able to handle everything else, but being a lifeguard, the water survival training part looks SUPER EASY.

    Would it be possible to fail this part of training? What happens if a candidate fails?
