    I Agree. But if you put some silicone calking around that tiny window i might be able to see what’s beneath the under water…perhaps…LOL

    @Redshift21 Valid point mate :-)

    I don’t like the cut out in the lid as it means you can’t use the shiny inside as a signal mirror

    @Slash28ACR Nice one my friend, Yeah I had noticed how similar this and the BCB one are, they could both be made by BCB, not sure though :-)

  • Slash28ACR said:

    I recently ordered the BCB brand “military” level survival kit to customise with some of my own stuff but I think it’s pretty identical to this after reading kit lists for a while and watching reviews. They even come with the same knife or.. “cutter” haha

    @hussaruk Great information my friend, I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge

    i think it is named after a welsh myth about a dog named gelert (gel rhymed with bell and ert as in bert) from the village of beddgelert in north wales.
    In this legend, Llywelyn returns home to find his baby’s cradle overturned, the baby missing and the dog with blood around its mouth. Imagining that it has savaged the child, Llywelyn kills the dog, which lets out a final dying yelp. He then finds the baby alive under the cot next to a dead wolf which gelert had killed.
    gelert are from wales.

    great review sir! the only thing i can see wrong with this kit is the snare wire.no ware near enough to be of any use. id also add some pain killers,super glue and some alcohol hand wipes.otherwise fantastic value and a good review!

    @HungryForBball16 Thanks, it cost me about £12 here in the UK. Not sure how much in dollars that would be

  • HungryForBball16 said:

    btw how much was it?

  • HungryForBball16 said:

    thats great

  • ColinOutdoors said:

    @Kawashe97 Yeah its a standard size

  • Kawashe97 said:

    Is this tin the same size as a tobacco tin?

  • ColinOutdoors said:

    @dcordry Thank you

  • ColinOutdoors said:

    @RDPproject Thanks Rob, yeah I agree with you, the tin could be highly polished.

  • ColinOutdoors said:

    Well it seems robust but I guess time will tell, I think a solid aluminium lid would have been stronger
